Henry C. Trost employed elements of the Second Renaissance Revival formal classicism in the design of the State National Bank Building (1922).
The elegantly proportioned ashlar walls of granite and terra-cotta of this two-story structure rigidly adheres to classical symmetry and rhythm. The main façade is dominated by an enormous arched entry, while the east façade is defined by a two-story archway with scrolled banding and a stepped parapet.
The classical design exemplifies the status of State National Bank’s prominent role in the El Paso business community since the bank’s founding in March 1881.
